A global rise in smartphone use has generated thousands of mobile apps for just about anything; be it for productivity, business, games, etc.
The health and wellness industry is not far behind. In fact, more people are now turning to technology to improve their health. This growing demand has spawned a copious amount of health and wellness apps that anyone will surely be spoilt for choice.

If you’re like most people who have no time to hit the gym, this is a good choice for you. For just a few minutes, you can do all the exercises at home without using fancy equipment.
This app aims to help beginners to lose weight, tone muscles and get in shape within 30 days. It features different challenges targeting the butt, abs, arm or legs with 3 levels of intensities.
I am using this app now as a supplement to my gym workout. Based on my observation, I can see some gradual improvements with my body’s weight and my arm and leg muscles are more toned than it was before I started working out.

Yoga Guru is one of the best yoga apps that does all that and more. It’s a self guidance workout that zeroes in on the physical, mental and emotional aspect of personal development.
What I like most about this app is that it has tons of free and paid classes that caters to particular needs such as weight loss, better sleep, fighting depression, improving digestion, relieving labor pains and so much more!
Their Timeline tab offers free level-up yoga courses that needs to be achieved step-by-step before you unlock the next course. Besides their yoga-related blog posts, You can also read up on how to improve your overall health through their Articles tab.
Cassey Ho is the fitness guru behind the massively popular Youtube channel, Blogilates. With this app, you can now watch her viral workout videos anywhere from your mobile device.
Aside from her workout videos, you can also download her free monthly workout calendar, access quick and healthy recipes and share success stories with other Popster fans through the interactive forum.
Designed by professional trainers and athletes, Nike+ Training Club is your go-to personalized fitness app. Its workout targets strength, mobility and endurance with coaching. It features hundreds of workout videos from Nike athletes and celebrity endorsers like Serena Williams, Kevin Hart, Ellie Goulding, and many others.

With more than a million 5-star reviews on Google Play, it doesn’t surprise me why MyFitnessPal ranks as one of the most popular calorie trackers. With its quick and easy calorie tracker, you can kick up your diet goals up a notch in no time.
Depending on what your goal is (weight gain, weight loss or weight maintenance) this app allows you to customize a diet and exercise plan specifically for you. Get insights about the food you’re eating, make more healthy food choices, track water intake, measure nutrients, sync more than 50 other fitness apps and join communities. Think of it as your personal diet coach that you can take with you wherever you go.
Drinking water should come naturally to all of us since water is very important to keep our bodies hydrated and aid in digestion of food. But, the reality is, not everyone is drinking enough water because there are times when we forget to drink water regularly. I understand it happens to the best of us. Don’t worry, though. This app will be your most-trusted companion to remind you to drink enough water everyday.
I realized I can’t rely on my brain to remind me to drink water so I turn to this app to do it for me. I’ve been using it for more than a year now, and it’s been one of my favorite apps, so far.
To start, you need to enter your current weight. This app will determine how much water you need to drink everyday. Set up the start and end time for drink reminders. You need to update the amount of water taken, and it will log all your entire water intake per week and month (if available).
Want to track what your sleeping pattern and sleep better? Sleep Cycle is a ‘smart alarm clock’ lets you track movements while asleep on your bed and wakes you during light sleep. It aims to help you wake up naturally so you always feel relaxed and well rested.
It has a built-in sensitive accelerometer that monitors your sleep movements and finds the best time to wake you up during a 30 minute time frame that stops on your set alarm time. These content focuses on aspects to improve your health, foundation and performance that your apply to your everyday activities. You can do it on your own or team up with a friend to make your meditation journey more meaningful.
Spotify may not be the app you would think of when it comes to meditation. But did you know that there are thousands of meditation music you can stream on this app?
I listen to my private meditation playlist not just during my meditation session. This playlist can be extremely helpful when I don’t want to be distracted at work.

Feeling sick lately but don’t know what could be causing it? WebMD helps you check what the symptoms are with its mobile-optimized health and decision-making tools. Before I heard about its app, I would often visit WebMD’s desktop website if I want to know about certain symptoms. Of course, this app should not replace your doctor for official diagnosis and treatment.
Aside from its Symptoms Checker, there’s an information about drugs and treatment, a first aid guide for medical emergencies (which you can access offline) and a local listings of doctors, hospitals and pharmacies within your area.

This list is by no means exhaustive. I might update it from time to time as I know that there other health and wellness apps out there that I haven’t discovered yet.
