CBC’s Ultimate Blogging Meetup + Pool Party
I have been blogging for more than a year, but like most semi-newbies who are weaving their way in the blogosphere, it has not been an easy journey for me.
Just the sheer amount of information I need to learn in order for blogging to make sense can oftentimes leave me overwhelmed and lost.
It is very fortunate on my part to have found a local blogging community that I can tap with to help fledgling bloggers like me to take the right steps in blogging. Every serious blogger dreams of being successful in this endeavor, so any support we can get from and eventually contribute in the future, is highly appreciated.
The Cebu Blogging Community is one of the growing communities that gathers talented bloggers in Cebu. Yesterday marked our first-ever official meetup at Diamond Suites Hotel & Residences.
Since we had a few minutes to kill before we started, I had the chance to exchange warm pleasantries with my seatmates Rose (not pictured), Jeph and Iris (below). It would be really awesome to collaborate with them and the others in the future when my schedule permits.
The major highlights of this meetup were discussions on CBC rules and regulations, accountability manifesto and blogging as a social responsibility. One of the best takeaways I had was when Ms. Eleanor Valeros said, “once you hit publish, everything becomes social.” Couldn’t agree more.
It’s great that we were finally able to make everything official now. In order for this small group to grow, it’s only fitting to set rules and the right expectations to keep everything smooth-sailing and organized moving forward.
During one of our raffle games, I was the first one to win something cool.
We also had our LOL moments.
Beautiful, shiny people.
It’s been a week since we all had an awesome time. Hey! Do you still have room for another awesome time? Get a chance to win dinner for 2 during BBQ Night @diamondsuitesph! HOW TO WIN 1. After we were done with our meetup, we went around the hotel to get a good view of the rooms and other facilities in Diamond Suites and Residences. They offer more than 100 Superior and Deluxe Rooms, all-day dining restaurant, swimming pool, WIFI and host of other facilities that’s just right for every traveler.
We capped the evening with a pool party–complemented with sumptuous hors d’oeuvre, drinks and an impromptu live entertainment.
Overall, the meetup was a huge success and we had lots of fun. I’d like to make special shoutouts to our sponsors: Flawless Face and Body Clinic, Cebu Teambuilding Services, Cebu Domain, Philippine Information Agency and last but not the least, Diamond Suites and Residences for providing us with the venue.
The community is still obviously far from perfect but it holds a lot of potential to becoming a respected media organization one day. It’s my only hope that we don’t just grow in numbers but also in the quality of members we introduce to the community.
