Nailaholics: Ayala Cebu’s Prime Mani-Pedi Destination
If you’re looking for a place to get your nails done after spending some time shopping at the mall, Nailaholics Nail Salon & Spa is a great place to go.
I recently went there to have a regular mani-pedi session after running some errands at Ayala one evening. By the time I arrived (around 5PM), their manicurists were all booked. The receptionist asked my contact number to so she can text me as soon as one of their manicurists is available.
To wait or not to wait, that was the question. So I peered down on my hideous toenails and that was the only motivation I need to wait a little longer and come back an hour later.
As soon as you step in, you are instantly treated to a Hamptons-style interior design. It is a soothing amalgamation of aquamarine, royal blue and light green, with comfortable, white couches and footstools that somehow created relaxing vibe reminiscent of a laid-back ancestral house.
Did I mention that they have two cushions covered with striped curtains? Yes, and their generous pillows make every visit even more comfortable.
Paint My Nails, Nailaholics Style
Cherry, my manicurist, started with a lukewarm foot and hand soak to prepare my nails. Their regular manicure costs P140 while their pedicure is priced at P220. Not bad, I should say. I was expecting it to be a little bit more pricey considering that they are located in a mall where the Class A and B crowd normally hang out.
Their regular nail polishes are free with the regular mani-pedi services but the special nail polishes costs P50 more. Still, not bad. Don’t you think?
A few of the salon services they offer are the foot scrub with mani-pedi combo and eyebrow threading. If only I have more money to burn that day I would probably spend the entire day there.
Cherry was fantastic. I noticed how meticulous she was with trimming and shaping my nails into my preferred oval shape. I also liked that she didn’t cut all the way down to the corner too much because experience tells me that doing so will only invite for more painful ingrowns in the future.
She does a quick foot and hand massage before applying a base and final coat of my chosen nail color that I personally call “Flamboyant Red”, for the lack of better term.
My overall experience with Nailaholics was generally impressive. I could only speak for Cherry who was mostly polite and friendly that evening but I’m assuming that all their manicurists are trained well for any nail spa services.
The price I paid was just right for the service I got. It’s not super fancy but definitely not the quality of service you’ll get from a run-of-the-mill nail salons in the neighborhood.
Just a tip: if you want to make your experience better, always inform your manicurists ahead of time on what you want–nail color, shape, if you want the cuticles removed or not, etc.– so that everything is clear and you go home happy with pretty nails.
If you want beautiful nails at price you can definitely afford, I suggest you try Nailaholics for a change. If you have tried them, let me know what your experience was like in the comments below.
